Well, as a US citizen, it WAS a holiday. :) So, I didn't have to pretend. My favorite aspects are, of course, enjoying the love and presence of my family, cooking and eating delicious food, and, reflecting on what it means to be an American, and, a Black American in particular. It was a glorious day.
