An Echo in Another’s Mind…

“Away, away, from men and towns,
To the wild wood and the downs -
To the silent wilderness
Where the soul need not repress
Its music lest it should not find
An echo in another’s mind.” ~ Shelley

I came across a beautiful photo today and followed links until I found the photographer. I was delighted to discover she’s a fellow Scot whose blog reveals a life view that resonates with my own in many ways. I wrote to her and in her reply, she shared that she liked my writing too.

In the blogging world, it’s so easy to get caught in the trap of seeing readers as ‘traffic’ or prospective purchasers, and other bloggers as competitors, of turning what is a wonderful tool into a feeding frenzy.

As a reader, I love discovering new blogs and glorious sites that showcase creativity. As a writer, I love the opportunity the internet allows me to have my voice heard.

Being able to find and express our own unique voice is like coming home – but when someone else resonates with our ‘voice’, that’s when home overflows with music and magic…
