Many of you know about the people I’m going to mention today: Caroline Manrique of The Zen in You and Whimsical Whispers, and Lance of The Jungle of Life.
It’s a joy to announce that Caroline’s first book of exquisite photography, Nowordz, was published this week. My words – and believe me, lyricism doesn’t daunt me – are inadequate to express how beautiful her photos are and how much they move me. They speak to my soul in a language that bypasses my word-shaped thoughts.

Caroline has generously shared her photos and writing with us for a long time in her blogs, and many of us have encouraged her to pursue her gifts and make a career out of her passion for photography. Here’s our chance to make this dream come true.
Full of inspiring photos and some carefully chosen, poetic words of inspiration, this unique book would make a perfect gift to heal a soul or enrich someone’s home or heart.
Please share this launch with as many folk as you can. I’ll be asking my husband to buy me a copy of Nowordz for Thanksgiving, a symbol to remind me that blogging has brought so many inspiring and talented people into my life.
Blog-4-Cause
Lance Ekum, of the popular inspirational blog The Jungle of Life, and Joanne Sutter, of Fitness and Spice, have compiled an e-book, Blog-4-Cause , to raise funds for the Susan G. Komen foundation; its efforts are dedicated to finding a cure for breast cancer.
Lance and Joanne received over 150 submissions from bloggers keen to contribute; I was honoured to send in one of my favourite posts, and I can personally vouch for the talents of many of the other bloggers who contributed. If you’d like to contribute, please click here to donate any amount, large or small, to obtain your copy of the book or visit the Susan G. Komen Blog-4-Cause website to learn how you can support their mission to end breast cancer. In addition, you’ll find information on how to receive the Blog-4-Cause E-book.

Next week, I plan to showcase some books to inspire and help any of you who are participating in NaNoWriMo – National Novel Writing Month.

Oh thank you Janice for the shout out. You are so kind! I can’t believe that the book is actually here…it was a labor of love for sure. I do hope that it brings much joy and happiness to those who decide to purchase it. This book is so special to me and has brought me immense gratitude and pride. Thank you again!

Hi janice .. have a good Sunday – hope the weather is kinder to you 450 miles north! It’s not very pleasant here – well we need the rain perhaps!
Caroline’s book looks wonderful – I had a glance through the preview.
Lance and Joanna have done an amazing job with their ebook, which we were honoured to be a part of ..and I thank them for including me .. despite a translation problem .. I’ve got a charcoal stalker, not a charcoal hawker .. but who cares! It’s fun.
Also we have 100+ other bloggers to find out more about .. with similar ideals and thoughts, and with so much wisdome to offer visitors.
Janice – a great post to promote both books and causes .. thanks – all the best – Hilary Melton-Butcher

@Patricia,
Thanks! I wondered about the wisdom of mentioning both books in one post, but the universe gave me more than a nudge so I went for it. I thought there might be someone out there who’d come to my site via my posts at Goodlife Zen or Write to Done who hasn’t ‘met’ Caroline or Lance yet.
@Hayden,
It is pretty awesome, isn’t it! If I could get my head round Twitter, I’m sure there’s even more I could do. But it does provide some sense of proportion about the good viral aspects of blogging, doesn’t it.
@Hilary,
I’m afraid we got the rain and flooding yesterday. I normally don’t mind the rain when I’m all cosy inside, but we happened to be out yesterday afternoon. There are fields near our town that look like wee lochs now.
Hi Janice.
I’m familiar with both of these bloggers. They’re both winners in my books — gentle, creative and generous souls. Congrats Lance and Caroline.

Thanks for popping over even though you know about Caroline and Lance and their projects. I love your description of them!
Yes they are both movers and shakers with big hearts and loving souls.
I love Caroline’s book and love how you tied it into Thanksgiving. You go Janice! I also donated a post to Lance and his project.

Thanks, Tess. I’m lucky that most of the bloggers I know have big hearts and loving souls!
I was planning a whole series of goodies leading up to Thanksgiving, but the universe definitely has very firm plans about how much time I’m meant to be – or not meant to be -blogging. The message would seem to be “Illness, yours or your family’s, is being sent for a reason – pay attention!!”
You know I’ve been a fan of Caroline’s since I first saw her Lounge Lizard back in May. It makes me smile, seeing her beautiful little book.
As for Lance, I started thinking that he should use his phenomenal writer/organizer/promoter skills to sponsor a charity bloggers convention somewhere, where we could meet all the people who have inspired us so much this year. Then I realized that might not be a good idea right now with so much talk of H1N1. Is swine flu fear running rampant in the UK as it is here?
Hi Brenda,
Thanks again for the the lizard that pointed me to Caroline’s blog!
I think my husband had swine flu right back when it first arrived in Scotland. It’s the most poorly he’s ever been in 25 years. The doctor took one look at his throat and temperature and sent him out of the surgery with a sick note and a prescription as quickly as possible, no blood tests or anything.
He was off work for three weeks, which was a worry in times of threatened redundancy. I was ill afterwards but not so bad. It did leave me with a bout of post viral depression, though, as you know.
The good thing is it precipitated me making the appointment to go and see the consultant; I’m usually quite stoic and make light of things and carry on if I can, but I knew there was definitely something physical going on.
My daughter’s got a foul virus right now (entire classes have been decimated) which is why I haven’t been keeping up to date with comment replies or posting, despite my rediscovered vigour. We had to cut short our break by the sea at the weekend.

Hi Janice,
You are beautifully kind and sweet!! Thank YOU for the shout out here, and really for all of the support you’ve given to this project! Janice, it’s an honor to have your words included in this, and really – it’s an honor to have so many people join in the cause to fight breast cancer.
And – doesn’t Caroline’s new book just look marvelous! Wow, she’s created a beauty!!
Thanks again, for your friendship, support, caring, and love in all of this!
Namaste,
Lance

You’re very welcome Lance! I’m honoured to be part of it and of this community of lovely people we both belong to. I have my ebbs and flows, but overall, blogging has brought me a lot of pleasure. It’s a powerful medium for connection, community and communication.
